Here’s a chocolate cake recipe that has a really moist texture and is soooo simple to make. I used this recipe for the doll or sandwich cake. This recipe does not work well for cupcakes! You can decorate it with whatever you like! I have added a recipe for a very easy fudgy topping but you can use whipped cream to cover your cake or frosting.
1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup castor sugar
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup boiling water
Mix the boiling water and cocoa until dissolved – leave to cool. In the meantime beat the eggs and castor sugar until fluffy – the mixture should be a light creamy colour. Add the oil and the cocoa mixture. Sift the flour and baking powder and gradually add in. Line 2 sandwich tins or your cake mould and pour mixture in. Don’t forget to line your baking tins. Bake at 180 degrees C.
When baked leave to cool completely before decorating.
For the middle:
Whip cream and spread on the first layer of cake, then sandwich with the other.
1 slab chocolate
2-3Tblsp Nestle Dessert Cream / Cream
1/2 tin Caramel Treat
Melt the chocolate in the microwave. Add cream – mix until you get a nice thick consistency. Then add approximately half a tin of the caramel. Mix until well combined. Taste and make changes accordingly. Pour over the cake and just let it drip off the sides off the cake. Oh, this is so deliciously yummy.
