Shortcrust Pastry

I go weak in the knees when I hear the word pastry! lol! This recipe is yummmmmmyyyy… and you will definitely be devouring those jam tarts.

2 1/2 cups flour

1 cup margarine (250g)

1 Tblsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 egg + water = 1/2 cup (whisk lightly with fork)

Put flour in a dish – add flour salt and baking powder. Chop up margarine and rub into the dough. Add egg/water mixture and mix to make a dough.

Roll out and put in greased casserole, add your filling and roll another piece to cover – this is for a pie.

I use the leftovers – roll it out fill with jam and seal with egg.

Brush the top with egg and bake till golden.
