A creamy, smooth, delicious, baked dessert that is so easy to make… 

This is my mom’s favourite dessert to make and there’s something about this dessert that will bring you to asking for more… Just ask my baby brother! 


Grease the pan or casserole dish. Heat oven to 180° celcius.


4 egg yolks

1 condensed milk

Small tin nestle dessert cream

2 tins fresh milk (use the empty condensed milk tin to measure this)


Lastly beat egg white and fold into the whisked mixture.

Pour into greased dish and bake in a bain marie for 45 minutes to an hour. The top layer will start to brown – do not be alarmed by this. Once the dessert is cooked, remove from oven and leave to get cold. If you want you can remove the layer on the top or just leave it on (I leave this layer on as it is very tasty). Top with the other half of the dessert cream and sprinkle with chocolate. 

Serve well chilled. 



– check the dessert at 45 minutes. Use a spoon to move the top layer in the middle so you are able to check if it is cooked. There should be a slight wobble. Do not over cook.  

-bain marie means putting the casserole in a pot with water. The pot should be bigger than the casserole so you are able to lift it out easily. The water should be filled half way up only.

– do not use a flat dish to make this dessert. A deeper casserole is preferred. My casserole is approximately 20-25cm and the dessert fills to the top.
