There’s nothing more fulfilling than a good bowl of warming soup – especially on those chilly winter days…
The ginger powder in this recipe adds that extra warmth.
The addition of tomato is optional – it doesn’t melt because it’s added in towards the end of the dish but it’s a good addition of texture.
A few pieces chicken bone /fillet
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed garlic
1 tablespoon stock powder
2 medium potatoes, finely grated
1 small tomato, chopped
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 packet ready made soup mix
1 cinnamon stick
1 cardamon pod, cracked
Braise chicken with salt, peppers and ginger powder… Then add 4 cups of water and the stock powder. Let the mixture boil until chicken is cooked…
Mix soup powder with water until you have a smooth paste, then top up to reach one cup. Add to soup mixture, together with the potatoes and 1 cubed tomato, soy sauce and sugar. Leave to simmer until potatoes are cooked.
Serve as is or with hot toast… Delish and warming for those cold winter days…
