Pot cleaning

Burnt pot! Grrrr….
No scrubbing and dirty, messy scourers! Steelwool… dread it!!! Last option, throw the pot away 😦
BUT WAIT…
I’m sure we all have ours days of a burnt pot… whether you have forgotten on the heat or ran to answer a call or the kids were ‘killing’ each other…. It just takes one second for that pot to catch and and an extra few minutes to burn…
So, here I was cooking marinated chops in my pot for my hungry family. I know how super fussy they are! The chops to brown. I cooked it until I could, although it started to burn the bottom of the pot – the marinade that is. Sigh! I soaked it and used boiling water and soap and left it I overnight… all in the hope that it would soften and wash off easily. After having done this 3 times over, there was no way it was going to happen.
Then I thought, vinegar and soda fix everything, so why not this.
Cleaning pots recipe:
1-2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda/baking soda
1/2 cup of vinegar
All you need to do is sprinkle the soda in the pot, pour in the vinegar. It will start to fizz. Add about a cup or 2 of water and leave it to soak for a while.
The result:
The burnt bottom will lift away from the pot and it’s easy to throw the mess away.
Wash as usual. And there you have it!
A clean pot!!!
